I have been a humanities lecturer/teacher for over 20 years and am very passionate about the subjects I teach, especially Sociology which is my specialism. My academic qualifications include two masters degrees in Politics and Sociology and Psychosocial studies from Birkbeck College, University of London and I have a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (Further Education) teaching certificate. My teaching experience includes Politics, History and Religious Studies, and in Sociology I have taught at GCSE, Access and A level. In particular, I am familiar with the new A level syllabus, having taught it in FE and sixth form colleges. I have also been an examiner for A level Sociology over the last five years. This has enhanced my knowledge and understanding of the requirements of the syllabus and the nature of the types of questions that are set by the examiners. In addition, I have experience of 1:1 tuition both in a private home environment through Tutor Hunt in 2019 and also in a college environment. I am currently tutoring GCSE Sociology pupils in an Ofsted rated outstanding Secondary School.

Availability: I am very flexible in my approach and am happy to discuss times and availability with clients from Monday to Friday.

Experience: As outlined above, I have over twenty years of teaching experience, particularly in Sociology where I am very familiar with the requirements of the new syllabus. I am very comfortable teaching students on a 1:1 basis, and have recent experience of this in addition to my general classroom teaching of the subject. I have a wide range of resources, including past exam and practice papers and model answers.
