Hi! My name is Gurneet and I am a fourth year Medical student at Imperial College. I chose Medicine since I found science, particularly biology, fascinating at school and wanted to further my knowledge in this subject and use it to help people in need. The Medical degree at Imperial involves a year of intercalation in fourth year, so that means this year, I`m taking a break from my medical studies to study a degree in Management.
I tutor Maths, Biology and Chemistry at both GCSE and A-Level, as well as Physics at GCSE. Over the years, I have learnt to adopt a flexible tutoring style as I appreciate that all students work and wish to learn differently but, in general, I like to take an active approach to my teaching, incorporating lots of practice questions into my sessions which is proven to aid understanding.

Experience: I have tutored for many years, including throughout medical school, where I have run sessions for peers in younger years. I have experience tutoring science at GCSE and A-level. This includes being a part of a tutoring scheme this summer, teaching GCSE science to year 10 students from disadvantaged backgrounds that had their schooling affected by the pandemic.

I have further teaching experience as a level 2 qualified swimming teacher. It has enhanced my communication and leadership skills to ensure that I can teach effectively. It has also built my interpersonal skills which are thoroughly important to be an approachable tutor with a positive learning environment where tutees feel able to learn and enquire!
