Information about Louis
Frenchman born and bred in London - fluent in French and English and comfortable to tutor in either/both. Having graduated from the Lycée Francais Charles de Gaulle in London with mention Bien (15.15/20), I continued my further education at the University of Edinburgh, from where I graduated with a joint honours BSc in Mathematics and Business Studies.
Have worked for the last 2 years for a large multinational hedge fund, recently leaving to pursue founding my own business.
-
I`ve been tutoring for the last 7 years in London and in Edinburgh, serving both the French and English curriculums.
My specialist areas in sciences are Maths and Physics as I excelled in these at high school (17/20 and 19/20 respectively at the baccalaureat), however I can also tutor other sciences such as Biology and Chemistry, having studied all these subjects to equivalent A-level.
With respect to languages, I have previously given lessons in both English and French, and am comfortable to tutor in either or both.
-
I firmly believe and have seen how all subjects can be taught and explained in such a way as to make the fundamental principles simple to grasp. Furthermore I`ve found learning is greatly enhanced when tutors seek to have productive, interesting and most importantly patient sessions with their students. Experience has shown me that support is far more beneficial than pressure - all the above allows myself and parents to encourage the student to strive towards their limitless potential, in an atmosphere as pleasant and confidence inspiring as possible.
Ultimately, a young person that appreciates the value of knowledge and the enjoyment of discovering and understanding new concepts and ideas will in the long run teach themselves more than any tutor can, and continue to embrace life and its challenges in a calm and confident manner.
