I am an Honours graduate in Applied Physics from the University of Strathclyde, and was a teacher of Mathematics in an Independent school for many years. I have taken some time away from the job in order to pursue my interest in creative writing, playing the piano and the study of classical languages. I enjoyed teaching, and found working with children of all abilities, from the slowest of learners to those preparing for Oxford and Cambridge entrance examinations, to be a greatly satisfying experience. In addition to the pleasure of interacting with so many very different young minds, I took satisfaction from seeing the positive effects which clear and well-ordered instruction had on my classes. In addition, I have read many of the Greek and Latin classics in the original languages.

Experience: For 26 years I taught Mathematics to children from ages 12 to 18, and have successfully prepared many classes for public examinations at National 5, Higher, Advanced Higher (Mathematics and Mechanics) and A-Level. I also have considerable experience in the one-to-one tuition of students, both in school and privately.
