Hi! My name is Gemma.
I am a University of Brighton graduate, achieving a first class with honours Mathematics degree.

After finishing my degree, I taught
Mathematics and English to students in Bali and Thailand.

I teach KS2, KS3, GCSE and Edexcel A Level.

My Approach:
I am passionate, friendly and well organised. My aim is to develop a students understanding of any topics they are struggling with whilst also support their progress towards the highest grades.

I will begin by forming an understanding of the students current needs and weaker areas. I then devise a plan of action for each of these areas adapting to each individual`s learning patterns.

To consolidate the topic areas, we will work with past paper and workbook questions.

Availability: I am available Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Willing to travel: 3 miles

Experience: 2 years experience home tutoring GCSE level students.
I independently created and delivered weekly maths tutoring sessions for students requiring extra support, applying my skills in organisation and patience. I adapted my teachings to each student’s individual needs, quickly providing solutions to any problems that arose and being receptive to feedback given. I also communicated the child’s progress with the student and parents through written and verbal feedback, encouraging continued hard work and improvement.

Worked as a voluntary Maths teaching assistant for all years at Heathfield Community College and Uckfield Secondary school.

I have a true passion for a career in teaching and will be taking further teaching modules within the next year to improve my capabilities.
