Information about Natasha

I am currently studying Medicine at St John’s College in Cambridge University and am in my fifth year of University. During my fifth year, I have undertaken the role of events organizer within the GP society, as well as Vice President of the St Johns Clinical Medical School Society.

During my undergraduate years I was the president of the St John’s College Medical Society and the JCR Publicity Officer to the St John’s College JCR. Currently in my postgraduate years I am the events officer in the GP society of our clinical school.

For college I attended Cardiff Sixth Form College. I took Biology, Maths, Chemistry and Physics for A2, receiving a total of 4A*s. For AS I received 4A’s from those subjects with a UMS average of 98.8%. I also participated in Critical Thinking where I received a distinction award.

For senior school I attended Howell’s Senior School Llandaff where I did my GCSE’s. For GCSE I took English Literature, English Language, Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, German, Latin, Additional Maths, Geography, ICT short course and Music. My grades for all these subjects were A*s so I received 12 A*s in total.

I received academic scholarships to both Howell’s Senior School and Cardiff Sixth Form College.

Willing to travel: 2 miles

Experience: With regards to younger children I have previously worked at a [contact detail removed], where young children are taught to read and get help with Science, English and Maths. I helped the children with their maths, and english especially.

With regards to older children, for two years (the summers of 2017 and 2015) I have worked as a tutor within Cardiff Sixth Form College, where I helped the sixth form students with their personal statements and their applications to medical school. I found it really rewarding helping and advising stressed teenagers through the difficult time of applying to their chosen universities. Here I learned key skills of how to reassure students and encourage them, without making them more distressed during quite a stressful time.

Moreover I have further experience with working with young adults as I worked at the summer school attached to Cardiff Sixth Form College where I was a team leader. Here I led activities with the students during the weekends and the evenings involving exploring Wales and being in charge of a group of kids when they went on field trips. This was really helpful in teaching me to deal with misbehaved students as well as to interact with kids who were experiencing homesickness, to enable them to feel more comfortable.
