I am an experienced teacher who gets the most of the students and thrives on seeing them achieve and be successful. I enjoy working with young people and engaging them in texts. Their creativity and insight can be really inspirational.

About me: I am in my forties, live in Oxford and have a wide range of hobbies and interests; namely dance - Capoeira & African Dance. When I can, I go to North Devon to surf and camp - I`m a lover of the great outdoors. In my current school, I volunteer on the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme and have run creative writing workshops in my previous school with the author Tim Pears. The students` writing was published by OUP in two anthologies for the charity First Story. It has been one of the proudest moments in my teaching career.

Of course, as an English teacher, I love books and am currently reading `The Testaments` by Margaret Atwood.

Availability: Monday & Wednesday after school/ evenings
Some flexibility with occasional Friday after school & other weekdays.

I have taught English Literature & Language in secondary schools for 8 years & have covered a wide range of texts at all key stages.
Experienced in teaching KS4 & KS5 AQA and Edexcel exam boards
7 years experience teaching English as a Foreign Language from beginners to advanced, IELTS, FCE, CAE and Business English.
