Information about Ria

I am an experienced Dutch tutor. A Dutch national and native speaker and have been teaching Dutch in the UK for many years.

You can learn the Dutch Language with me at all levels, for all purposes, corporately and privately either face to face or on line. Most of my students are in love and have a need to understand and speak the Dutch Language!

In addition to the normal one hour lesson, I offer thirty minutes Dutch `shots` for those busy people who juggle being a mum / dad and work/business life, sometimes all in the same place and cannot be away for a full hour in lessons.. Two x thirty minutes Dutch per week has proven a success. Do let me know if that is something for you.

I also have recently introduced a `buddy system`, this means that I try to find you another student, at similar level, to practice Dutch with. This has worked well, especially when some students have no-one to practice with..

TEACHING APPROACH:
The courses are well structured, interactive and communicative. The Beginners Course to A2 level equips students with all the Dutch language skills needed to communicate in everyday situations. The textbooks are made up of chapters, which look at a specific area of everyday life.

For example, we first focus on the pronunciation of vowel sounds, prepositions of place, simple present verb forms, idiomatic future and describing people and places. The course is structured to develop skills in listening, reading, spoken interaction, spoken production and writing the Dutch language. Lessons cover `every day` topics relating to Dutch Culture and society.

The Beginners Course is the first step towards achieving the language standards recommended by the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) A1/2. At the end of the course students can interact with a degree of fluency and have reached the capacity to express themselves and discuss contrasting viewpoints. At B1 level you will be able to pass the Integration exam.

You receive a framed certificate after completion of your course. There is no contract, you can start and stop when you wish.

Availability: I teach and support many students each week in `online lessons`. Some in small family groups.
Due to their busy working lives, lesson may not always be on the same day / time. I am available when you want to have your lesson. I have my own flexible systems to accommodate everyone.
You can have your lesson same day and time every week or change as needed.
