Information about James
Hi! I`m James, a fully qualified secondary teacher from Somerset now based in south London.
I have taught all humanities subjects however specialise in History and English. I have experience teaching classes from KS3-5 and particularly skilled working with C/D borderline pupils to achieve the grades they need for sixth form entry.
;
I am an extremely passionate and enthusiastic teacher and like to meet the rigour of the syllabus through engage in activities and personalised activities. I love the option tutoring gives to allow the time for tailored activities and focussed support for your child that is just not possible for a class of 30. As an ambassador of the Teach First programme I believe all children are capable of achieving success with the right support and attitude.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.
Availability: Weekday evening after 6pm.
Weekend slots are possible on request.
I am available after 5pm in the Shepherds Bush area or after 6pm in Tooting/Streatham/Brixton area.

Experience: I have been the Head of History at a large secondary academy school in Croydon and sixth form tutor. Prior to this I have taught a number of humanities and English classes at the same school. The children in my classes have consistently made very good progress and many achieved GCSE grades above their predicted grades. I have achieved only "Outstanding" observations from internal and external reviews in the last two years of my teaching.
