Hi, my name is George! I am a recent graduate of the University of Plymouth; graduating with a First Class Honours in Mathematics. I have previous experience in being a maths mentor, and volunteering as a teaching assistant.

My teaching methods is based off learning through examples. Trying a question and not being afraid to get it wrong, as that is how I believe you best learn. Going back to the steps where you went wrong, and having great attention to detail to understand the reason why it was wrong, and letting the student independently try and figure out the correct solution. Giving little pushes of help in the correct direction.

Experience: Just graduating with a degree in Mathematics, I have had plenty experience teaching people. I volunteered as a teaching assistant in a Year 9 maths class for 6 months, which included providing additional help with students who needed extra support in their learning. I have also had experience in being a maths mentor for 8 months. I would have one to one sessions with various students, helping further their maths knowledge in areas where they were not as comfortable.
