Information about Diane

Do you feel that the pace of learning in school is so fast your child sometimes fails to keep up? Do they feel anxious? Do you want to help but struggle to know how to? Well, I can help.
Over my years in teaching, so many children have required individualised learning. As a mother of three boys I know how the needs of our children are a priority.
I am down to earth, love travelling, reading and especially working with children. I am married, and as well as our three boys, we have a small dog and love nothing more than family time, walking him.

Tutoring Experience
I am an experienced teacher, qualifying in 2000 and working across Nursery and the primary phase for all ages and abilities. I have prepared children for the SATs in Years 2 and 6, along with other assessments such as the Year 1 phonics screening. Over the course of my career, I have developed bespoke interventions for both gifted and talented children, those with English as an additional language and children with special educational needs. I have been a senior leader and Deputy Head in a primary school for 8 years and as such I have extensive knowledge of all curriculum areas.
If you want extra help contact me and we can discuss your concerns.

Tutoring Approach
I believe that all children benefit from a child-centred approach, integrating and building upon their skills and interests, never afraid to be wrong. I see personal learning as being tailored to promote investigative skills, encourage questioning, developing the ability to make connections and to summarise and review all understandings whilst building self-esteem. It is imperative that all sessions and learning opportunities are fun and interactive within a relaxed environment where every idea is valued and explored to ensure rapid progress.
Each lesson can be specifically tailored to meet the learning style best suited to you / your child. I will continuously ask for feedback to make sure that you are satisfied with the quality of service.

Consider the benefits of having a tutor:
a) Raise understanding and therefore grades
b) Increase self-confidence
c) Access to continuous support and advice

Why use me personally?
a) I am patient, creative, and dedicated in helping all students be successful. I have worked with diverse sets of students with a wide range of needs. Therefore I am able to work with students of all abilities.
b) My lessons are very comprehensive. They are each adjusted to your learning style, so we can get quite creative!
