Hi!

My name is Zak and I am in my third year of studying Computer Systems Engineering MEng at the University of Sheffield whilst currently on track to achieve First-Class Honours in my degree. Real world applications of Physics and Maths has always interested me leading to my choice of university degree.

My main objective while working with you is for you to become an independent learner, i.e. for you to get to a point where you are no longer dependent on external help. So why do I say this? Throughout my time at university, one thing that every student struggles with is the adjustment to independent learning. For many, it is the first time in their life that they are exposed to learning content in their own time according to their own research and learning ability. Because of this, my top priority for all my students is to prepare them for this adjustment alongside their GCSE and A-level preparation.

Alongside helping you prepare for the expectations of higher education, I also want to help you achieve:

- Improved grades in both Physics and/or Maths.
- Improved problem solving skills.
- Increased academic confidence.
- Development of skills necessary for STEM degrees at university.

So how will the sessions work?

This will be totally dependent on you, the student. Before teaching commences, we will conduct a short introduction session in which your preferred learning and teaching style can be discussed. For those who are unsure about their preferred style that is also perfectly fine, as your personal tutor, we will experiment with different ways of learning to figure out what works best for you!
