Information about Mara
I am an enthusiastic, motivated and committed individual to education, currently completing a PGCE (trainee teacher year) Secondary in Classics with History and English (University of Sussex). I have always had a passion to make education accessible to children and to also provide the support they need to reach their potential. I believe that every child deserves the right and access to education as well as individual support for their own needs.
Availability: Saturdays and Sundays

Experience: Currently completing a PGCE Secondary (11-18) in Classics with History (University of Sussex) as well as English Language and English Literature as subsidary subjects.
I read BA Classical Archaeology and Classical Civilisations at University College London. I studied the following subjects:
Beginners Latin A & B (GCSE equivalent), Intermediate Latin A & B (A-Level equivalent), Roman Love Poetry in translation (Catullus, Ovid, Tibullus, Propertius), Epic and Empire in translation (The Iliad, The Odyssey, The Aeneid and Omeros), Greek Comedy in translation (Aristophanes, Menander), Art of Pompeii and Alexandria, Greek Art and Architecture, Introduction to Greek Archaeology, Texts in Archaeology, Archaeological Field Methods, Interdisciplinary approaches to Archaeology, Theory and Method for the Archaeology of the Ancient World, Art and Archaeology of South East Asia, Field Study Tour (6 weeks spent in Greece and Italy studying classical art, archaeology and architecture, study report written on the representation of Roman and Greek gods).
I am currently a Hands-On Desk volunteer for the Africa Desk at The British Museum, allowing the public to view and touch artefacts from Africa
I completed the International Baccalaureate Diploma in Sixth Form gaining a total of 36 points out of 45. The subjects and grades are as follows:
