Information about Jake
I am a student at the University of Nottingham studying an Undergraduate Masters of Mathematics. I achieved a "first" at 95% in my first year, winning the Allen Rose Award for the best overall performance for first year single honours Mathematics students.
Due to my hard work and dedication to Mathematics, I similarly achieved the best A levels in my year at my school, scoring 3 A*s and 1 A. From my love of mathematics, I enjoy helping others grow in the subject, often helping them find new or innovative ways to fully understand what they are doing. I often find myself expressing my awe of mathematics with many different people, showing them the interesting parts of maths and so am excited to teach and inform more people on the subject. I would even do it for free if I didn`t need the money!
Availability: I will offer tutoring over an online video chat service, particularly whilst at University, as such I am available evenings and weekends.
Willing to travel: 3 miles
Experience: I have experience of weekly tutoring, having individually tutored 1 GCSE and 1 A level student during my attendance at Bexley Grammar School. Furthermore, I helped a multitude of other students on a more informal basis, in person and also via messaging.
I also founded and ran the weekly `Mathematics Society` which viewed and tackled unusual and interesting mathematics problems which also included MAT and STEP content.
