I am a fully qualified secondary Mathematics teacher, with a positive and inclusive approach to mathematics. I have experience in supporting individuals especially anxious about their mathematical studies, and equally, I can provide the rigour and challenge that many students do not receive at school. I am currently working in West London and teaching various abilities from ages 11 to 16, but am moving to Bristol from September 2020.

I believe that any person, adult or child, can thrive in mathematics. However, maths anxiety is a real thing, often exacerbated by looming exams. For me, if the basics of mathematics are not cemented in a person`s mind, it can be difficult to build on that weak knowledge with more advanced topics. It is the building of these foundations that is always my priority, so that adding skills to this later on, is far easier, and more likely remembered.

I enjoy seeing a `light bulb` moment from my students and whether they need encouragement and support, or whether they need stretching, I am willing to tailor my approach and response to students, to ensure they get the feeling of maths satisfaction and help them develop as happy young adults.

Availability: Evenings and weekends. Happy to travel to homes (location depending).

Experience: I have 2 years experience teaching maths to students of various abilities in London, up to GCSE (higher or foundation tiers), and have supported students to reach their targeted grades and improve their relationship with maths, as well as providing stretch and challenge for my most able students.

Following my undergraduate studies of Business Management BSc, I was a participant on the Teach First programme where I earned my PGDE in Mathematics by studying at University College London (UCL) and the Institute of Education (IOE), one of the leading institutions for education.
