I am very interested in the role of tutoring, because I have been enjoying teaching and tutoring very much and have lots of experience of it. I am also very happy to share my knowledge of sciences and experience of studying and taking exams with school pupils. Having been awarded degree of both Bachelor of Science in Biotechnology and Doctor of Philosophy in Cell and Molecular Biology by Edinburgh University and been tutoring undergraduates at Edinburgh University for more than 3 years, I am very confident that I will perform very well in this role. Have been trained as a biologist and academic researcher, I am fully capable of tutoring science subjects required for As/A-Level, N5, Higher and advanced higher students. In addition, I have experience of tutoring students for advanced higher Biology and Chemistry. One of them recently got As for both advanced higher Biology and Chemistry results, and she is now accepted by medical school of Nottingham University. She had Cs for both subjects when I first met her. I am also very good at Maths and tutored a few A-Level students on C, M and S Maths. One of my students improved his S1 grade from 60% to 90%.

My main approach to tutoring is to go over past exam papers with the students, through which I can identify the weaknesses in their knowledge and practice their examination techniques. After strengthening weaknesses, I always make sure that the students do actually have improved their weak points by re-testing. More importantly, I am not only tutoring for their missing knowledge, but also guiding them to solve problems and improve their confidence in exams. I have developed excellent verbal and written communication skills through academic training. I am also a hard working, very patient and well-organised person and able to plan tasks and coordinate activities with colleagues and managers. I believe that my excellent scientific background makes me a valuable asset for this role. I am confident that I possess the attributes you are looking for.
