Information about Ethan

I am an experienced and passionate Physical Education teacher based in West Sussex, offering tailored tuition in GCSE PE, BTEC Sport (Level 2/3), and A-Level PE. With several years of experience in education, and as a moderator for AQA, I have an in-depth understanding of the latest GCSE PE curriculum and its assessment criteria. This enables me to provide students with the most up-to-date, exam-focused support, ensuring they are fully prepared to succeed.

My teaching philosophy is rooted in the belief that genuine progress occurs when students feel comfortable and supported in their learning environment. I strive to create an approachable and engaging atmosphere that fosters both confidence and curiosity. With a down-to-earth approach and a good sense of humour, I aim to build strong connections with my students, making learning both enjoyable and rewarding. I firmly believe that when students feel at ease with their tutor, they are more inclined to ask questions, tackle challenging topics, and ultimately fulfil their potential.

In addition to providing comprehensive subject knowledge and exam preparation, I take pride in offering a highly individualised approach to teaching. I tailor each lesson to suit the specific needs and learning style of each student, whether it’s mastering key concepts in physiology, understanding the biomechanics of sport, or improving academic writing skills. My focus is not just on enhancing academic performance, but also on helping students gain a deeper understanding of the subject, which they can carry forward into further education or their future careers.

Whether you’re looking to strengthen your understanding of PE, prepare for exams, or build a solid foundation in sport studies, I am dedicated to supporting you through every step of the journey. With my expertise and approachable teaching style, I am confident I can help you make significant progress and achieve your academic goals in Physical Education.

Availability: I offer tutoring sessions seven days a week, from Sunday to Saturday. However, as I work part-time as a tutor alongside my teaching role at a private school, my availability may vary from week to week, depending on my curricular commitments. I strive to be flexible and accommodate my students` schedules as much as possible, and I am happy to discuss and arrange suitable times for tuition on a case-by-case basis.

Experience: I bring extensive experience in teaching a wide range of qualifications, including GCSE PE, BTEC Sport (Levels 2 and 3), A-Level PE, and the International Baccalaureate (IB) Sports Science curriculum. My expertise extends beyond secondary education, as I also provide support to students pursuing degree-level coursework in areas such as sport, physical education, and psychology. I am well-versed in helping students refine their research, analytical, and academic writing skills to achieve success in their higher education studies.

In terms of academic qualifications, I have earned several degree-level certificates that have equipped me with both the theoretical knowledge and practical expertise required for high-quality teaching and tutoring in sport and education. My qualifications include:

BSc (Hons) in Sport and Exercise Science (2:1) – This degree provided me with a strong foundation in the principles of human physiology, biomechanics, and sports psychology, allowing me to offer specialised insight into these areas.

Postgraduate Certificate in Physical Education – This qualification further developed my pedagogical skills, enabling me to deliver effective and engaging PE lessons across a range of age groups and educational settings.

MSc in Education – With a focus on advanced educational theories and practices, this master`s degree has enhanced my ability to support learners at all levels, helping them to excel academically through tailored teaching strategies.

With this diverse background, I am confident in my ability to guide students through a variety of academic challenges, whether they are preparing for exams, completing coursework, or seeking to deepen their understanding of complex concepts in sport and exercise science.
