Hello, my name is Deepa, and I am a passionate Early Years and Key Stage 1 tutor with 13 years of experience teaching young children at the most important stage of their learning journey.
I specialise in early maths, phonics, reading, and writing, helping children build strong foundations in a way that is engaging, confidence-boosting, and fun. I strongly believe that children learn best when they feel safe, supported, and encouraged, and I bring a kind, caring, and patient approach to every lesson.
I am deeply passionate about child development and understand that every child learns differently. My sessions are carefully tailored to each child’s individual needs, learning style, and pace. Whether your child needs extra support, confidence-building, or stretching to reach their full potential, I focus on getting the very best out of each learner.
My lessons are interactive, enjoyable, and purposeful, using age-appropriate activities to keep children motivated while developing essential skills. I work closely with parents to ensure learning is consistent and aligned with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and National Curriculum.
Above all, I love what I do. Seeing children grow in confidence, make progress, and develop a love for learning is what drives me every day. I am committed to creating a positive learning experience where children feel happy, valued, and excited to learn.
I am looking to tutor children who may need extra help with their phonics, literacy and maths or any foundation subjects.

Availability: I offer both online tutoring and in-home sessions for local families. I am available for afternoon and after-school sessions, Monday to Friday.

Experience: I am a fully qualified Primary Teacher, having gained my PGCE from the University of Roehampton in 2013. I have taught across Nursery, Reception, and the wider primary age range and currently work as a supply teacher.
I have five years’ experience as an Early Years Lead and have led subjects across different schools. I also have strong knowledge of phonics and early maths programmes.
I have experience teaching and supporting children with SEN and EAL, incorporating the use of Makaton to support communication and inclusion.
