Information about Robin
I am a bilingual (German & English) student with a BSc in Geology & Biology and a MSc in Biotechnology. I am currently in my 4th year of medical school. I am extremely patient and enjoy working with my students to help them build their confidence and do the very best they can!
I have spent 8 years at 3 universities studying a variety of different sciences. During this time, I also tutored many students at all levels. My teaching style is personalised to your needs but I enjoy helping students build a skill set they can apply to their studies in order to become more confident and successful in the subjects they find most difficult.
In addition to the above, I work hard to support students through their mock and final exams. I place particular emphasis on exam technique and have found my method to be quite successful at boosting grades in a short space of time. I also am happy to set my own mock exams as well as give support with homework where needed.
A typical lesson with me lasts between 1-2 hours and will focus on a few topics that have been highlighted to me by the student or parent. A typical 1 hour structure is something like this:
0-15 minutes - Introduction to topic and in particular its relevance to the subject.
15-25 minutes - Demonstrating some example questions and solutions.
25-55 minutes - Supporting the student as they attempt questions on their own.
55-60 minutes - Setting homework (optional) and discussing next lesson plan.
Please note, the above structure is provisional and I am more than happy to discuss a bespoke plan with you.
Availability: I am pretty flexible on my availability in the evenings, mornings and on weekends depending on my lecture timetable and clinical commitments.
Willing to travel: 12 miles
Experience: I have a BSc and MSc in Geology & Biology and Biotechnology respectively. I am currently studying Medicine and Surgery at [contact detail removed].
I have tutored since my undergraduate degree and have seen students through their GCSEs and A-Levels and on to university, supporting them with their personal statements in the UCAS system.
I tutor students in the sciences but also am happy to tutor other subjects depending on level and specific requirements. Please dont hesitate to send a message if you have a specific request.

Robin is obviously knowledgeable and he quickly built a rapport with my child, enabling her to understand the subject. Robin`s ability to link other subjects to his own allowed a fast and secure understanding for my daughter, that also built her confidence.
