I’m an experienced English teacher who currently teaches in a college. I’m offering tuition in English Language and Literature KS3/GCSE/A Level.
I have worked as an examiner (exam marker) for AQA and I’m also currently doing a masters in Language, Literacies, and Dyslexia.

Unfortunately I am unable to rate her tutoring skills. She might be good as a teacher. We are not sure. 1st lesson Emily rescheduled the appointment due to a personal circumstance. She did attend the rescheduled appointment. Moving forward we agreed on the day and the time. But then on the day she messaged us that she couldn`t make it due to another personal circumstance again with similar to the 1st one. Then she didn`t bother telling us whether she would or wouldn`t continue. I think that is very unprofessional messing around with students academic needs when she clearly could not accommodate the requirement.

Hi, unfortunately I’m a single mum living through a pandemic and my toddler has just started nursery so is coming down with all sorts. I did have to cancel twice as he presented with covid symptoms- although I was fairly sure it wasn’t covid, I’m not taking any chances with the health of others. You had stated that you could be flexible with times and take your other children out in the day time so I didn’t think you’d mind if I asked to tutor at a different time the following week. I apologise for not replying to your last message but I found it to be quite abrupt and didn’t want to further “waste each other’s time”. I hope your daughter does well in her exams, she’s a very bright girl and it was lovely to meet her. Best of luck for the future.

very pleased with tutor after only a few lessons, very approachable, tailoring support to my daughters needs, knowledgeable about the subject and exam techniques-Would not hesitate to recommend Emily to other parents.
