Information about Fakhra
I studied IGCSE and was fortunate enough to obtain A*-A in all subjects. I opted to study Mathematics and Further Mathematics at A-Level. Maths has always been my favourite subject and I enjoy teaching it to others. After obtaining a degree of BSc. Mathematics from Kings College London, I trained as a teacher at UCL IOE obtaining PGCE Mathematics and QTS. Since the past three years, I am teaching across all key stages at an outstanding secondary school and sixth form in Surrey. Studying maths at university level strengthened my command over the subject to teach it well. The calculus, algebra, geometry and statistics modules in my course improved my knowledge of graphs, vectors, trigonometry, mechanics and probability theory which form the basis of National Curriculum in the UK.
As a maths tutor, I hope to continue discovering and learning along my students.

Experience: Maths:
I have been tutoring A-level and GCSE students since seven years now. I have been fortunate enough to get positive feedback from my students which always motivates me to do better. I have tutored many A-level and GCSE students, they all achieved grades A*-C in maths. I put huge emphasis on the needs of my students so I always have discussions with them about their ideal lesson and what they want from me as their tutor. I highly value the opinion of my students and my lessons are more of a teamwork so that my students feel more involved and valued. I solve examples with my students and then give them questions to solve, once I have checked their solutions I provide helpful feedback to them and go over any questions which need resolving.
Non-Maths:
By gaining experiences like tutoring students and volunteering at a Kumon centre, I have discovered new ways of teaching mathematical methods. I always motivate my students by praise and encouragement.
As a youth leader to young girls in my local community, I am required to display leadership skills to conduct educational meetings where sociocultural issues are discussed.
