Information about Aysha

**Fully booked for the 2023-2024 academic/school year - Accepting reservations for the 2024-2025 academic year**

Having achieved a first-class honours in my Integrated Biomedical Science Masters degree, I am now studying medicine as a graduate.

I have been teaching since 2014, and I immensely enjoy sharing my knowledge and skills, with students who need the extra support to achieve or surpass their target grades. Helping my students enter their college of choice or secure a place in their chosen university to study a range of courses including dentistry, medicine, psychology and engineering, has been a truly gratifying experience.

I am a friendly, punctual, and dedicated person, who completes any job entrusted upon me to the best of standards. Therefore, I am certain that I can help your children or siblings looking for tutors, to reach their potential and excel in their studies.

Availability: I am available on Thursdays and Fridays between 3:00 to 8:00 pm and on weekends between 11:00 am and 8:00 pm.

Willing to travel: Home Only

Experience: I have been tutoring A level Chemistry and Biology and GCSE Chemistry, Biology, and Physics since 2014. However, my teaching journey began much earlier than this through my role as a youth leader with the St. John Ambulance. Here, I conducted first-aid classes for children aged between 10 and 17. Additionally, I also mentored AS and A-level students at Greenhead College, when I was a student there myself.

My teaching experiences have shown me that every individual has different weaknesses and strengths and more importantly different methods of learning. Generally, students struggle to grasp the content or apply their knowledge appropriately to exam questions or it can be a combination of the two. I can help students identify the areas they most need help with and support them in a manner that caters to their individual needs. The ultimate aim is for students to achieve their goals, but also for them to become independent so that they can self-direct their learning efficiently and confidently. I can guide them to get to that stage.

The content I teach is based on the syllabus/specification the tutee will be following for a specific subject. This ensures that my tutees will cover all the material they need to know for the exam, in the correct depth.

When tutoring on a one-to-one basis:
1. The first lesson will involve establishing their strengths and weaknesses in the subject area. Following this, I will help my tutees improve on the weak areas by gradually building on what they already know or by starting from scratch, all whilst ensuring that their strengths remain strong.
2. For students that require a lot of content to be covered, a timetable will be established so that the tutee knows their targets for every lesson.
3. When the tutee has understood the theory well on a particular topic then their understanding will be tested via past paper practice.
4. I will provide tips and advice on how to answer exam questions concisely to maximize marks, on a regular basis.

By providing a relaxed learning environment I ensure that my tutees are comfortable with asking any questions they may have. This, in turn, helps them build their confidence and also their trust in me as a tutor, which are both crucial for the success of one-to-one tuition.

Aysha has been the best tutor, I couldn’t recommend anyone better. She goes above and beyond by providing exam questions to do even after the lessons to consolidate your knowledge. She is very friendly and great at explaining the most difficult topics and makes lessons enjoyable. She taught me how to exactly answer questions to achieve top marks and gave the best exam tips for A levels. I highly recommend her, she is very friendly, organised and professional.
