I am Michelle. I have an Education Studies Degree with English from Liverpool John Moores University and completed my Schools Direct PGCE with Liverpool Hope University. I spent a few years working as a 1-1 teaching assistant gaining invaluable classroom experience before completing my PGCE, my time spent as a 1-1 gave me experience of SEND and the different needs of each child and how best too support them in the classroom.
I am passionate about English and love giving my students the tools to help themselves grow.

Availability: I am available weekdays and evenings.

Experience: I gained my initial classroom experience whilst working as a 1-1 to children with SEND particularly children with ASD across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage Two. I throughly enjoyed my time doing this and decided to complete my PCGE. During my PGCE I gained classroom experience in Year One and EYFS, teaching whole classes all aspects of the curriculum in creative ways to engage the students and to make learning fun! I completed my NQT year in reception and following that, taught in Year One.
I now work as a supply teacher and this has given me the experience to teach across Key Stage One and Two.
I currently also tutor Key Stage Three English and enjoy discussing the different texts that the students are covering in class.
I complete an initial assessment with the student during our first session. This gives me an idea of where the student is working at and where the student has strengths and areas of development. I also spend some time talking to the student about themselves, and what thier interests are, this allows me to personalise each session and enthuse each student to be thier best. Following this I have a brief discussion with the student`s parent/carer to discuss their opinions and what they think the student needs in terms of support.
I use the National Curriculum objectives to plan my sessions and give verbal feedback to the parent/carer at the end of every session. All sessions are personal to each student`s needs and interests and each student has thier own folder and planning book that I am happy to share with the parent/carer.
