Hi, I`m Amy and I am a secondary English teacher. I have been teaching for six years and I currently work in a secondary school in central Guildford. In addition to this, I have experience in teaching children with SEN, social, emotional, mental health and behaviour needs. I am also a qualified examiner for GCSE English language and I have had extensive training and experience in the new specification GCSE English exam (2015).
I enjoy teaching and working with young people; my particular strength is building confidence in young people, to enable them to approach formal examinations.

Amy has tutored both my sons in the new GCSE English Language and Literature exams. My older son went from working at a level 3/4 to passing Language at grade 7 and 6 in Literature in less than a year. Amy was then working with my younger son but unfortunately had to stop due to relocation. Amy is highly organised, encouraging, patient, approachable and reliable. Amy always came prepared with material tailored to my children`s needs. I have no hesitation in recommending her as a tutor.

Amy is fantastic, excellent communication, reliable, on time and most importantly knows what she is talking about and will tailor the lessons to the individuals needs. I would highly recommend Amy to anyone!

Beginning of year 11 before the tutoring session had started I had been consistently receiving 3`s and 4`s for both language and literature. However after 12 months of tutoring I have received a grade 7 for literature and 8 for language which is truly amazing.
