Information about Shabbir
I am a young, energetic, enthusiast, patient, approachable, experienced and professional Mathematics teacher and tutor whose ambition it is to provide the best possible education to young children across Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent. I am passionate about education and have a love of mathematics that I aim to instil in every child that I teach or tutor.
Although many children find the subject a difficult one, I believe that with the correct support and time, every child has the ability to succeed and learn even the most complex mathematical concepts.
I enjoy travelling and volunteering over the summer breaks and have worked with Limited Resource Teacher Training (LRTT) to help deliver teacher training to teachers in Uganda and India for a few years.

Experience: I obtained my Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) in Mathematics from The Manchester Metropolitan University in 2011 on completion of the Graduate Training Programme at a school in Stoke on - Trent and quickly went on to secure the position of Assistant Head of Mathematics within the first two years of my teaching career. I held this post for 2 years during which I set up and ran a Breakfast Club to raise the attainment of Year 7 students.
I have worked as Mathematics teacher for a total of eight years in two different secondary schools and as a result have gained a wealth of experience in teaching children across all ability ranges in Key Stage 3 (Year 7 to Year 9) and Key Stage 4 (Year 10 and Year 11). I have an excellent understanding of all the exam boards (Edexcel, OCR and AQA) as well as the iGCSE.
I have provided 1-to-1 maths tuition to students in Stoke-on-Trent and Newcastle-under-Lyme for the last three years whilst teaching at a school on a part time basis but now dedicate all of my time to tutoring.
