Information about Georgia

Hello,

I am a third year classical and jazz violin student at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama offering private classical violin and music theory tuition for early years or beginners. I am a kind, supportive and friendly 20 year old with plenty of enthusiasm for kids and music. I have a multitude of resources to teach with and I will plan lessons thoroughly. My musical experience is eclectic as I play in orchestras, string quartets, jazz ensembles, electronic and punk bands - as well as composing and arranging music. Whatever captivates your son or daughter, I believe I will inspire them to continue their musical studies to a higher level equipped with a wider musical insight than others.

Availability: I am flexible with availability. I only have 12 contact hours at Guildhall a week, therefore I can fit around my students schedule any time during the week (weekends also fine)

I will come to your house to teach! Either by bike or public transport.
Lessons will range from 30 mins to an hour, depending on your child`s concentration skills or how they are feeling that particular day. I understand that after a school-day focusing on learning the violin can be hard!

Willing to travel: 5 miles

Experience: I have had experience looking after children from the age of 14, and have be privately teaching music to 5 to 7 year olds for a year and a half now with successful results! I have also delivered practical music workshops at the John Scurr Primary School (E1 4XX) to year 3`s there.

I have had weekly violin lesson since the age of 4, and have an incredibly good idea of what teaching methods work and which do not. I learnt Suzuki method violin as a young child, which I would incorporate to an extent into my teaching. It is a fantastic way for training your son/daughter`s ears and learning repertoire, but it is quite a diligent form of learning. I believe the most important thing a child should gain from a music lesson is happiness, and therefore the focus of my lessons is fun and inspiration.

I have 10 GCSE`s (grades B-A*), A levels in Music (A*), History (A), English Literature (A) and Drama (A) and have worked as a front of house at The Artist Residence (Cornwall) from the age of 14-19. I am now a full time undergraduate music student at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama under the tuition of Bartosz Woroch, Chris Garrick and Martin Speake. Whilst studying, I teach the violin and plays gigs with my bands to earn a living.
