Information about Joe
I am a passionate and committed tutor with over 10 years experience in helping children and adults in maths and sciences. I also have a couple years experience in tutoring Cell Biology and Biochemistry at degree-level at the University of Cambridge.
As an enthusiastic and patient tutor, I thoroughly enjoy helping students develop their understanding of the topics at hand. I believe problem solving and critical thinking are essential skills that students should develop alongside with the knowledge they acquire.
Typically with a practical approach, I use past papers to enable students to get the sense of the language and style of answering exam style questions. This also builds the confidence in tackling questions and highlights gaps in learning. I also use learning aids such as powerpoint presentations to explore and encourage students reading around the topics to make learning more memorable.
Besides tutoring for mainstream subjects, I am TESOL qualified (Trinity College, London) and have taught in a language school to help children and adult learners with their English qualifications.
I have had several years of experience in advising students on their school and university choices. As a Cambridge graduate, I would be very happy to assist with Oxbridge applications and also personal statements writing.
As an academic author/writer, I can also help proof-reading
Availability: Flexible for most evenings and weekends, daytime would also be possible
Willing to travel: 20 miles
Experience: I have two years experience tutoring university students for Cell Biology and Biochemistry.
I have tutored children, aged 7-14, in Maths, Sciences, English and Chinese. I have also tutored students studying GCSE, AS- and A-Levels in Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, English and Chinese.
I have experience in teaching English as a second language to children and adult learners, and prepared students for various English qualifications (including IELTS)

My daughter was struggling with all 3 sciences. Since Joe has been her tutor her grades have improved in assessments by a couple of levels. She has gained confidence in answering questions which I thank Joe for. He is very patient but very thorough. Would have no hesitation in recommending Joe.
Tutors Response :
Hi Anita, thank you so much for your kind review. Georgia works hard and I am very impressed by her improvement over the last couple of months from grades C/B and now achieving full marks and A* in her sciences! She deserves to do well and all my best wishes for her studies.

Dr. Joe comes with the highest recommendation.
First off, he is very nice.
Secondly, he`s seriously bright, really organised, prompt, knows how to explain difficult things in a simple manner, and can flip between maths, physics, chemistry, you name it...
Thirdly, he likes good coffee.
