Hello. My name is Sam and I am a qualified primary school teacher having qualified from the University of Cumbria in Lancaster several years ago. Though I am primary school-trained, I have taught in secondary schools also. I have 4 years experience teaching English, Maths, Science, PE and Geography to young people between the ages of 7-15. I have vast experience working with young people with EAL (English as an additional language) and those with other learning needs, i.e dyslexia, autism, etc.
I have recently taught in highly accredited international schools in Spain and China where the students were between the ages of 7-11 years old. I taught for one academic year in Valencia and several months in Shanghai. The students from these private schools had EAL (with both Spanish and Chinese being their respective mother-tongues) and I had to deploy a range of strategies to ensure the students could access and excel with the learning they underwent. I am currently working in my second school in London where, again, many of the students have English as an additional language. I love teaching young people and their progression and learning is at the forefront of everything I do as a driven and highly passionate teacher.
More recently, I have tutored students at Primary level in both Mathematics and English.
