I am a 20-year-old third year university student reading Philosophy (BA) at the University of Sheffield. I was born and raised in the small town of Berkhamsted, 10 miles from Watford and 30 miles northwest of Central London. I intend to venture into journalism, preferably sports journalism with a focus on football, but open to any sector (including both print and broadcast).

I have a strong interest in philosophy, theology and ethics, other sports (including F1, darts, boxing and MMA), politics, history, and psychology. I`ve always adored writing, often combining my passions by composing reports on football, or my interpretation of, and reflection on, certain philosophical schools of thought.

I enjoy going beyond my course, reading around the topics, and- eminently- developing my own philosophical point of view; one which has metamorphosed over the course of the last 7 years. Attempting to immerse myself in the religions and beliefs of different cultures, I feel I have developed an eclectic stance on morals, the importance of the self, the nature of reality, and much more. Independent thinking and proficient problem-solving are qualities I hold in high regard.

Music and socialising are also big parts of my life. A huge fan of indie rock, electronic, R&B, and most music made in the 70s & 80s, I spend a lot of time listening to new music and exploring the depth of my taste. One of the many things halted by the COVID-19 pandemic was my love for meeting new people. I plan on trying to be as gregarious, productive and adventurous as I can with my time now life is seemingly returning back to normal!

Availability: As a university student, I do have some academic commitments. I am unavailable on Thursdays (all day) and Fridays (11am-2pm), but otherwise flexible. Weekdays are preferable, but weekends are not the end of the world!

Experience: The most appropriate experience I possess is my time being part of a Philosophy tutoring program at my school when I was in sixth form. I also frequently take the time to explain parts of my course (and help others with parts of theirs) to my friends and colleagues. I achieved ABB in my A-Levels (pre-COVID) taking Philosophy, Theology and Ethics (M1 in a Pre-U Diploma, equivalent to an A), English Literature, and Theatrical Studies. This is only bolstered by my 10 A*-B GCSEs, including English (A*), Maths (A), and the three sciences (AAB).

I pride myself on my role as co-head of the Football Department for Overtime Heroics, an online American newspaper- a position I have held for over half a year. This also includes an editing and writing role, having previously published pieces on topics ranging from transfers, to tactics, to general news updates. Recently I also joined the F1 team in an editing and writing position. Not only does this require literary savvy, it also demands a high level of interpersonal interaction, something I believe I am proficient at.
