Information about Judith
I have 30 years` experience of working in secondary schools in London and Essex. I initially worked as a language teacher and and spent 10 years as a Head of MFL. More recently I worked as an English tutor, helping students on a one to one basis. I am currently a specialist dyslexia teacher, working in a secondary school, where I also teach English and Literacy.
I am reliable and professional. I tailor my lessons to the needs and abilities of the student. I understand how demanding the pressures of exams can be and how difficult it can be for students to navigate their way through them. I enjoy working one to one with students, as I can focus on their individual needs and help them develop their ideas.
Availability: Evenings and weekends
Willing to travel: 2 miles
Experience: After completing my PGCE in 1987, I taught languages for over twenty years in secondary schools, including 10 years as a Head of MFL.
I then worked on the Government`s One to One scheme for a number of years, working with students to improve their English and Literacy skills.
I can therefore offer French, English Language and English Literature up to GCSE level.
In 2009, I gained a CELTA qualification to enable me to teach English to adults and as a result of this I worked, for a short time,as an ESOL lecturer, teaching English to groups of adults in east London. I have also offered private tuition to adults in preparation for IELTS.
I currently work in an enhanced provision in a secondary school, which caters for dyslexic students. I also support students for whom English is an additional language.
I am therefore able to teach both adults and children who need to improve their ability to communicate in English. I can also offer specialist support to students experiencing difficulty in gaining literacy skills.
