I am a qualified secondary school teacher and experienced tutor in both maths and science with a proven track record of raising the grades of the students I work with.I pride myself on my patient and caring attitude and on not having a one size fits all approach to learning.

I believe in working alongside my students to help them address their misconceptions and boost their understanding then reinforcing this through overlearning and careful questioning. This is further supported through homework depending on the wishes of the parent and child.

Availability: I am currently available Tuesday and Wednesday evenings from 6pm.

Experience: Over the last 20 years I have taught science at several good secondary schools across South Yorkshire.
More recently I have tutored maths and science across KS3 and KS4 often working with the same students throughout their secondary school life and supporting them to achieve the grades they deserve. I have a track record of being able to support young people move from lower sets to achieving grades 8 and 9 at GCSE.

Alongside teaching I have also tutored in schools supporting students on both the 6/7 and 3/4 grade boundaries to achieve the grades they need to access the courses they deserve at post-16.
More recently, alongside tutoring, I have worked as an assistant educational psychologist supporting neurodivergent and anxious young people get the support they need to access their education in schools across Sheffield. As such, I have knowledge and experience at engaging and motivating all learners regardless of their ability or mental health.
