Information about Debbie
As a Primary teacher in Portsmouth for 10 years, I have experience leading Early Years then Maths at KS1 and KS2 with an up to date understanding of recent curriculum changes.
I left full-time teaching in July 2016 and am now supporting children aged 5-18 in school and at home who have experienced domestic abuse.
I enjoy working with individuals and small groups, really getting to know each student so I can meet their specific needs and enable them to develop self-confidence and resilience as they close gaps in their understanding and progress in their learning.
I am open minded with excellent listening skills, and a good sense of humour. I find a calm, positive approach enables me to make a real difference to children`s learning and inspire them to succeed.
It is very important to me to create supportive working relationships with children and their parents. I am keen to teach Maths and English at Primary level including reading, phonics, spelling, grammar and handwriting.
Although I live in Waterlooville, I work in Fareham and Gosport so can cover these areas too.
Willing to travel: 10 miles
Experience: Primary teacher in Portsmouth for 10 years until July 2016.
Specialised in Early Years at University and have experience teaching early reading and writing including Letters and Sounds phonics and early handwriting.
