I am a caring and friendly professional English tutor who has recently moved from Oxford to Taunton. I specialise in tailoring tuition to meet each individual`s goals and needs, so please contact me to discuss and assess these. I can either supplement school/college work or design an independent programme of work. I quickly learn how my students think and am patient, flexible and innovative, adapting my approach to suit each student. My pupils look forward to their tutorials which often become the highlight of each week because they receive the help they need to succeed in all areas of English, whatever their level of English might be and whatever their goals. Areas of work include: all aspects of reading, writing speaking and listening, all aspects of the National Curriculum and all Key Stages both Primary and Secondary, 11+, Common Entrance and Scholarship Exam preparation, English Literature, Drama and English Language, IGCSE, GCSE and A level, Vocational Courses, Higher and Adult Education and ESL including IELTs preparation.

Availability: I live in central Taunton not far from the Musgrove Hospital and prefer to tutor by Skype. I am very flexible and can arrange sessions to suit you during weekdays, evenings or weekends and during term time or holidays.

Experience: During a teaching career spanning thirty years I have taught English and Drama in grammar and comprehensive schools, in the state and independent sectors, in further education college and university. For the last ten years I have worked as a private tutor in Oxford. My students have ranged in age from six years to mature adults and have been both native and non-native English speakers and those with special needs as well as advanced students.
