I am a fully qualified English and Drama teacher with 8 years experience teaching at a boarding school in the Surrey Hills and various top private schools in London. (PGCE and QTS).
I have a First Class BA in English & American Literature and Drama with a year abroad at UC Berkeley. After training as a musical theatre performer, I later completed an MA in Theatre Directing at the Orange Tree Theatre through St Mary’s University before qualifying as a teacher.

I am a warm and engaging tutor with a strong work ethic, who is patient and encouraging with tutees. I am particularly experienced with developing essay writing and exam technique, as well as in-depth analysis of text. I balance fun learning with focused and accurate work.

I want you to leave every session feeling more confident than when you arrived. My approach combines eight years of teaching experience in top private schools with my professional background in English Literature and theatre studies, making lessons engaging, rigorous and genuinely enjoyable. I’ll tailor every session to your needs, breaking down challenging ideas, developing your analytical and writing skills, and giving you practical strategies to approach exams with clarity and confidence. My goal isn’t simply to improve your grades, but to help you become a more confident, independent learner.

Having achieved 5 A`s and 5 A*`s at GCSE in 2008, and 2 A`s and 1 A* at A Level in 2010, I have a firm understanding of academic syllabi and how to achieve the best results.

I provide the following tutoring services:

2. General tutoring in Drama and Theatre Studies coursework and exam practice for GCSE and A Level.

6. Specific lessons geared to specific exam boards after consultation with students as to exact needs.

10. Acting/vocal coaching for drama school applications/ monologues and songs.

I’ve always been passionate about helping young people discover their own voice, develop confidence and realise what they are capable of.
I became a teacher because I love the moment when something that once seemed difficult suddenly clicks. Whether that’s unlocking a Shakespeare text, finding the confidence to express an idea in an essay, or discovering a new way into a character, I find it incredibly rewarding to help students make those breakthroughs.
My background in professional theatre brings another dimension to my teaching. I trained in Musical Theatre Performance and Theatre Directing, have worked at Shakespeare’s Globe and directed professionally, so I bring genuine industry experience alongside rigorous academic teaching.
I want every student I work with to feel that their tutor really understands them. I’m encouraging and approachable, but I also have high expectations and a clear focus on progress. Ultimately, I teach because I want students to leave my sessions not only better equipped for their exams, but more confident in their own abilities.

Availability: Saturdays, weekday afternoons/evenings and school holidays.

Experience: I am a qualified and experienced secondary school teacher and have been a private tutor for over 10 years. I can proudly say all my students have seen their grades improve considerably since working privately. Many of my tutees have gone on to attend prestigious sixth forms and universities, including Oxford. Others have taken up tuition to retake A Level and GCSE exams and have seen an increase in their results by several grades within a year, gaining them entry to their preferred university choice. I also specialise in part-time home schooling and acting tuition.
