Hi, I`m Ethan! I recently completed the IB Diploma with 38 points and I`m heading to the University of Warwick this autumn. I specialise in tutoring IB students in English Literature, History, Theory of Knowledge (TOK), Extended Essay support, Environmental Systems and Societies (ESS), and Theatre - subjects I`ve just been through myself, so I know exactly what examiners are looking for and where students typically lose marks.

In English Language, I focus on essay structure, close textual analysis, and exam technique - particularly how to turn a solid reading of a text into the kind of precise, well-evidenced argument examiners reward under time pressure. In History, I help students build strong source-analysis skills and structure essays that balance detailed knowledge with sharp argumentation, since it`s often the analysis and structure that separate a good answer from a great one, not just the facts recalled.

I`m particularly passionate about helping students structure strong TOK essays and EEs, since these often trip people up more than the subject content itself. It`s as much about the process as the writing! I also enjoy helping with ESS`s mix of scientific and essay-based content, and bringing a practical, performance-focused approach to Theatre. My own results came from a lot of trial, error, and refining exactly this kind of thing, and I enjoy passing that on.

ESS (6): Comfortable tutoring the subject`s blend of scientific content and essay based assessment, including case study application and structured written responses.

Theatre (6): Practical, performance focused approach covering both the practical and written/analytical components of the course.

Student Mentor, Dwight School London (2024 to 2025): Led small group mentoring sessions for younger students on wellbeing and school adjustment. Direct experience guiding students one to one outside a classroom setting.

Leadership: Student Council President and Investment Club President at Dwight School London. Experience organising, communicating with, and motivating groups of students.
