Information about Estefania

My name is Estefanía. I am from Zaragoza (Spain) and have been living in England since 2011.

In Spain, I worked as a journalist and senior Communication Advisor for PR and Communication Companies. I also worked as a Communication Advisor for the Government of Aragón (Spain).

When I moved to England, I started up my company [contact detail removed] through which I organized Cooking Lessons in Spanish (amongst other activities) where attendants can practice their Spanish in a friendly and fun environment. At the same time, as a tutor, I helped some teenagers to prepare their GCSE and A Level exams in Spanish.

These experiences encouraged me to improve my teaching skills. In 2018 I got the Graduate Certificate in Spanish Language Teaching to Adults (GCSLTA) by Instituto Cervantes London, accredited by Roehampton University, with A and A+. I have also the qualification as a Spanish conversation assistant in secondary education in the UK and I´m a tutor and examiner of DELE A1 and A2.

My journalism background and love for my language, give me passion and insight into the Spanish language which I instill in my students. Motivated to reach my students using the most suitable approach. Invested in my students´ success to ensure motivation and enjoyment in their learning but also focus on reaching their progress and goals.

My teaching methodology is based on different language learning and teaching approaches (CLT, TBL, Simulation, etc), with a focus on:
• Lesson planning and personalised courses.
• Creating innovative and engaging materials.
• Differentiation in the class.
• Adaptation of activities and teaching approach to 121 lessons.
• Development and balance of the 4 skills.
• Online teaching using different technologies and resources.

As a volunteer, I run a Spanish Conversation Club, a monthly meeting where attendants can practice their Spanish in a friendly and relaxed environment. My goal with this Club is not only to have a place where to speak Spanish but give a structured session where each month a linguistic matter is studied and put into practice. In this way, the attendants can practice, ask questions, resolve problems in a comfortable and confident environment with the guidance of a Spanish native speaker and qualified teacher.
