I have a good sense of humor which I think is is essential for studying A level Chemistry as you will be faced with lots of challenges and you need to be able to relax to get the best out of yourself.

I pride myself on being able to explain things in a simple way and have lots of daft tricks to help you understand things.

I want you to understand chemistry rather than trying to remember facts as its much more difficult to go wrong if you understand it, as the answer becomes obvious.

Until August 2017 I was Head of Science and Chemistry at Whitley Bay High School. I was there for 16 years, its a great school and a wonderful science department. I am now a freelance consultant as and I am helping improve science teaching in school across the North East.

Since 2018 I have been the Newcastle University PGCE Chemistry subject tutor helping train the next generation of teachers.

Before teaching I was an industrial scientist for 8 years in the North East and North West. I have 3 patents for my inventions.

I have 17 years of A level marking experience for AQA but I am happy to teach any specification.

After each session I will send you some questions to have a go at before the next session. The most successful students do these.

Experience: KS3 to KS5 Science/Chemistry. Full time for 18 years. Head of Chemistry for 10 years looking after 100+ A level chemistry students. Always more than 50% A*-B grades at A level and have been as high as 66% so lots of exam success.
