Information about Sarah
I am a Petroleum Geology graduate from the University of Aberdeen I but have a passion for English as well as geography and the geosciences. I have chosen to further my studies and have returned to University, I am undertaking an MSc in Glasgow in Land and Hydrographic Survey (Geospatial and Mapping Sciences).
I achieved a first class degree in Geology and Petroleum Geology and as a result I am well equipped with the knowledge of all things physical geography as I have studied the fundamentals for a long time.
I achieved an A grade at Advanced Higher English along with first class grades on assignment in optional English courses I picked up at university during my first and second year.
I am enthusiastic and passionate and learning, as well as being a patient and positive person.
During my time at University, I was also a manager at a cafe, I have learned how to manage my time efficiently, as well as gaining communication and team building skills. It is important to be a good communicator in hospitality and I pride myself on being a very positive, friendly and approachable person.
I struggled through high school with mild dyslexia and discovering my learning style but was given such positive advice in my penultimate year of school and it was invaluable. I use specific software on my computer to tint my white screen and have learned various techniques that make studying more beneficial to me.
I would love to share what I have learned and overcome with a student feeling a bit lost on which learning style they have.
I am dedicated to growing the imagination of others, I am passionate about the success of others especially if I can help in any way.
I am interested in tutoring pupils/students in standard grade/NAT 4/5 and higher level in both English and geography.
Availability: All weekday evenings, and weekends if required.
Willing to travel: 15 miles
Experience: I worked closely with the English department in my last year of school during my studies of advanced higher, i was involved in a `book club` for younger students that were not very strong readers. I worked with a group of students and one on one during lunch times and after school.
I also taught highland dancing (a little irrelevant) to children and it massively increased my patience and gave me an understanding of how younger minds work.
During the Academic session of 17-18 I tutored three students for their higher English. Both of whom achieved A grades.
I am genuinely proud of all of my students and look forward to supporting more students in the future.

So far Sarah has been excellent because she understands Mhairis dyslexia problem and what is required to pass the exam. This has enabled Mhairi to improve her grade already.
