Information about Joseph Anthony

As can be seen from my CV, I have a degree in History as well as two Masters in Advanced Studies on Medieval and Modern Times I have the Spanish Postgraduate Certificate in Education (CAP) and the English Qualified Teacher Status too. Most of my experience has focused on Spanish History research that being the reason why I became a collaborator and external assessor for different scholarly journals by writing a series of articles related to the Spanish Middle ages, in addition to take part in an archaeological intervention and give two lectures on specific subjects related to the late medieval period.

In respect of my personal development in the teaching field, I have successfully carried out different certified courses, held at Camilo Jose Cela University (Spain), with the aim to consolidate my training as a teacher, including the in-depth seminars in basic pedagogical grounds such as tutorial performance and assessment in Secondary and Higher Education, all of which has been in tune with my committed vocation for teaching. Concerning the mentioned vocation, I attended a six week educational programme called ˜British Educational System Theory and Practice" at the Training Partnership in Torbay, South Devon. During this course I completed modules in curriculum theory and practice, inclusion, safeguarding, child protection, the role of the OFSTED inspection, the QTS process, classroom management techniques, performance management and target setting, cultural awareness, professional development and career pathways.

I have had the opportunity to put my training into practice by tutoring both GCSE and A-Levels private students, as well as working as a Spanish teacher/assistant at Chobham Academy, not forgetting my role as a Spanish language assistant at St. Annes Catholic High School for Girls, and Kelmscott Secondary School, respectively, institutions, all of them where I have developed and implemented Spanish classroom lessons together with grammar and pronunciation assignments for KS3, KS4 and KS5 students. To this valuable teaching experience, must be added my role as a Spanish tutor at Leytonstone Youth Matters, which gave me the chance to interact with GCSEs students, resolving their doubts in order to overcome their weaknesses regarding the Spanish subject. In addition to the mentioned before, over the last few years I attended Brixham Church of England Primary School, as a TA and MFL language assistant, not forgetting my role as a history teacher at Juan de Austria Secondary School in Barcelona (Spain) and my teaching training at LAL Language Centres in Torbay, institutions where I gained valuable experience of different English and Spanish teaching methodology.

In regard to my tutoring role, I am currently giving Spanish private lessons to both GCSE and A-Levels students in order to prepare them for diverse types of examination boards.

Throughout my teaching career, I have gained considerable experience providing solutions for students to be able to enjoy a pleasant and stimulating learning environment, and my aims have always been focused on encouraging pupils to achieve their potential by stimulating their enthusiasm for learning.

After the corresponding assessment of students weaknesses and strengths, the aim of my teaching style is bound to meet the specific learning needs of each particular student. With the support of a wide range of visual, auditory and writing resources, the purpose of my teaching is to provide students with enough skills and expertise to fulfil their Spanish speaking, listening, writing and reading goals.

I firmly believe that my knowledge of the Spanish language and culture, alongside my teacher training, all of them at your disposal, will be of great use to you.
