I offer friendly, learner centred maths tuition for students from KS1 to GCSE as well as Adult Learners. My qualifications include a BEng (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering, a Postgraduate Diploma in Quality Management Statistical Methods and Reliability, and a PGCE in Secondary Education.

At all levels I encourage and support students to construct their own knowledge, thus fostering ownership of their learning and a deeper understanding of maths as well as building confidence.

I am a great advocate of using physical resources as well as online tools to support learning wherever possible and enjoy the challenge of making maths fun.

Availability: Afternoons: Monday to Friday
Evenings: Tuesday and Thursday


I am currently full for evening slots but will have some availability after this year`s GCSE`s finish on 8th June.

Experience: After 15 years as an engineer where I specialised in using statistical methods to solve problems I retrained as a Secondary Maths Teacher. Alongside completing my PGCE part time I taught maths to adults in a secure psychiatric unit. Since then, as well as teaching maths and science in secondary I have also taught a variety of subjects in a Family Learning role as well as home educating my own Primary aged children during our recent 16 months sailing adventure to and around the Mediterranean.
