Hi there, I`ve just finished reading English Literature at the University of Cambridge.

English has always been my passion and I’m eager to pass on my enjoyment of this subject. I can offer personalized tutoring for GCSE, A Level or support Key Stage 3 students in keeping up with and excelling at their school work. I also have a keen interest in religious studies and philosophy of religion and can provide tuition for these subjects.

I`m happy to help with university admissions whether it’s in relation to personal statements, practice interviews or advice on how to approach the ELAT. I have represented the university in several school talks and the college has trained us in how to explain and demystify the Oxbridge admissions process.

Availability: During this difficult period I`m happy to arrange online tutorials through Zoom or Google Meet.

Experience: I’ve tutored mixed ability students in English GCSE at a school in Cambridge helping them obtain a higher grade. This has given me experience working both with confident, able students and those who need more encouragement. I`ve also helped tutor students preparing to take the 11+ and helped with university admissions.

Last summer I also spent two months teaching English as a foreign language in a school in rural Nepal. This incredible opportunity allowed me to broaden my skills and we covered everything from poetry to basic grammar. I taught large classes from the ages of 11-17.

I have been working at a bookshop or several years and am proud of my ability to help children find the books that excite them thus fostering a passion for reading. I am confident in my ability to help those who may need more focused and dedicated support to enjoy and succeed in this subject.

In the past I’ve also worked as a teaching assistant at the Pegasus Youth Theatre in creative writing classes. Part of this role included helping one member of the group who had learning difficulties and enable them to enjoy and participate with all the activities fully.
