I believe in the power of storytelling to unlock the world around us, teaching empathy and understanding, as well as allowing our children to continue to enjoy their imagination as they grow older. We often encourage our children to ‘grow up’ by putting away imagination and play when they need it the most to endure the stress of academic and social pressures. I aim to find interesting and enjoyable ways of teaching without putting undue pressure on the student. Having experience with anxiety myself has led me to include mindfulness in my teaching methods to lower stress, build confidence and hopefully allow students to tackle problems with a toolkit of anxiety busting techniques.

Experience: I’m a trained Secondary English teacher with a PGCE from the University of Oxford and have worked in Secondary academy schools teaching years 7-13. I’m currently working in a role creating educational resources for schools. I have experience working with children of all ages and worked as a teaching assistant before becoming a teacher, offering one-to-one support for children with SEND. I also have a masters in Medieval and Early Modern Studies and work with the history curriculum across all levels and time periods to create appealing resources and help students achieve their best in the humanities.
