Professional, post compulsory biology lecturer with a dynamic approach to education. I believe all students can achieve their potential with the right support, which I aim to supply.

I am a graduate in Biology and Psychology from Newcastle University with a 2i. I then gained a PGCE in secondary science education from Durham university. I am currently finishing my MSc in Wildlife Management and Ecosystem health.

I am currently a head of Year 12 biology and an A-Level teacher in a central London sixth form college. My teaching has been graded outstanding by ofsted in a recent inspection. I have experience working with adult learners and degree students.
I am a relaxed and caring tutor who wants my students to achieve their potential. I approach tutoring and teaching by first identifying a students strengths and weaknesses. From this starting point we can establish a route to an aspirational target grade. As I am a professional lecturer I am aware of common problems when studying A-level biology and I have a variety of strategies to help students overcome these difficulties. I believe students need regular learning checks to establish how they are progressing and to ensure that concepts have been learnt thoroughly. I believe that all students can flourish with the right attitude and encouragement.

Availability: I am available weekdays after 6pm. School holidays, weekends and Bank Holidays available at request (with an additional charge)

Experience: I have taught in both secondary and further education in the science area. I specialise in Biology A level tuition, as this is my main teaching area. I have been an FE and A-Level lecturer for over 8 years and prior to this I completed my secondary PGCE teaching science across KS3 and 4 (GCSE).
I have offered tutoring for GCSE and A level and for the past 4 years I have always been fully booked. I am now accepting new students for exams in 2020 and 2021

The vast majority of my experience is in teaching A level Biology . In addition to teaching, I am subject leader for year 12; responsible for developing content. This managerial experience ensures I have a thorough understanding of the biology syllabus and an understanding of the issues students face whether struggling to achieve their potential or looking to reach the very highest grades.
