Hello!
I’m Andrew, a Cambridge graduate who’s been a full-time physics, chemistry and maths tutor for 13 years. I’ve done over 14,000 hours of tutoring.

What students get:
I’ve helped hundreds of students go from struggling to confident - many who thought they “just weren’t good at” physics/chemistry/maths.

Typical results are increases of 1 to 3 grades: a D to an A or a B/C to an A* is entirely possible. Most students see genuine improvement within the first few weeks.

I focus on deep understanding rather than rote memorisation. This means when exam questions are worded unusually or combine multiple topics, students can handle them instead of panicking.
They build real problem-solving ability and confidence that lasts beyond their exams.

I cover all the exam techniques, common mistakes where marks get lost, and explain how the mark schemes work.

This means your child will know exactly how to score maximum marks, not just understand the content.

Students regularly tell me they wish they’d started lessons earlier once they see how much clearer everything becomes.

My approach:
I’m friendly, patient, and have many ways of explaining even the driest topics. I genuinely care about grades and wellbeing - you and your child will never feel alone, especially near exam time.

I’m contactable 7 days a week all year via email/text/WhatsApp.

We start with whatever topic is being taught in school right now (so no time is wasted being confused in lessons), then systematically work through everything needed for their exams.

I track progress on every topic and revisit old material to keep it fresh.

Qualifications:
• Full degree and masters in Physics from Cambridge University
• Full degree and masters in Chemistry from Newcastle University
• PhD in Computational Chemistry/Physics from Newcastle University
• Member of the Institute of Physics (MInstP) and Royal Society of Chemistry (AMRSC)

Availability: As I work full time as a tutor I have slots available morning, afternoon and evening throughout the week.
