Information about Louis
Hello,
I am a 22 year old recent graduate of Oxford University, and I am looking to tutor students of all ages in a variety of subjects, but particularly in Maths, English, Politics and Economics.
From 2013-2014, I worked as a specialist maths tutor and teaching assistant at Grey Court School, where I would work one-to-one or in small groups to help struggling students achieve their target grades. My philosophy revolves around the concept of helping students change the way they think, so that they start developing the tools to problem solve on their own - rather than simply imposing a set method or stock of answers.
I also have years of experience with private tutoring, and I am happy to do sessions in person or via Skype. I will also help those who are looking to apply for Oxford or Cambridge, as I have experience in helping with the admissions and interview process at Oxford University.
My aim is to get students to work at their own pace, which I feel is more beneficial than working at a teacher-set `classroom` pace, which may be too slow or too fast for some pupils. I am patient, well-spoken and good with children, and will always strive to help these students achieve the grades that they want.
I will usually charge between £15-30 per hour depending on the student`s age and level.
Availability: Most days and evenings.
