I am a qualified teacher who went into teaching after a 28-year career in mainly senior management roles in SMEs. I taught full time for 8 years and part-time for 4 years, but have recently switched to self-employment offering instruction and tuition to private students. With over 500 hours of private tuition under my belt, I am one of the most experienced Economics and Business tutors around. Whilst the Covid situation continues I would be reluctant to travel to private homes, but will do once an effective vaccine is in place.

You will see that I have a one star review, which I have asked TutorHunt to remove as it is unreasonable, inaccurate and unfair. I had one lesson with this student who asked me to prepare a topic which I did and delivered it. Following this lesson she booked four subsequent lessons, did not turn up to the first two without informing me and was then surprised and annoyed to be charged even though I was prepared and waiting online. The `revenge` for my apparent unreasonableness is a one star review!

Availability: I have good availability on Monday, Thursday and Friday evenings, but none on Tuedays or Wednesdays at present.

Experience: As a teacher, I taught for 12 years teaching predominantly A’ Level Economics, A’ Level Business and GCSE Business, with some A’ Level Law. As a tutor too, I have very wide experience, particularly in A’ Level Economics and have tutored all of the main examining board syllabuses including: AQA, Edexcel specification A and B, OCR and WJEC. In A’ Level Business I have tutored AQA, Edexcel, OCR and WJEC. I have taught just a single student for A’ Level Law.

Most importantly, I want to give you, (or your son/daughter) confidence in the subject I am tutoring you in and I pride myself in being able to do that. As a previously practising teacher I have a range of techniques available and keep my teaching resources up to date. My tutorials are driven by you, the student, and I generally expect you to guide my teaching by having a range of topics which you wish to cover in any given tutorial. If you want me to choose topics for the tutorials, then I am happy to do that too. I am willing to cover topics that have already been covered in school lessons, or topics that are about to be so. I can and do give homework in the form of exam questions or essays, but this is generally towards test or exam dates and I guarantee to return it to you, marked, at the next tutorial.
