After 30 years as a secondary school science teacher, including being a ks4 science coordinator, second in department and enjoying good exam success, I am now stepping down to become a higher level science teaching assistant at the same school I have taught at since 1988. As this will give me more free time, I will be available to tutor.
My qualifications include A- levels in biology, chemistry and physics, a 2.1. honours degree in biochemistry and a Ph.D in mitochondrial bio-energetics plus of course a PGCE qualification.
I am a keen outdoor enthusiast and enjoy fell running, rock climbing, mountain biking , road biking and mountain walking.
Availability: weekday evenings
Willing to travel: 15 miles
Experience: 3O years as a secondary science teacher teaching to GCSE and A-level.

Ian is a fantastic tutor. My daughter has only had a few lessons with him and he is already helping her with the areas she required the additional tuition with. He is very calm and concise which helps and his manner of teaching is brilliant
