Information about Tarafa

I recently graduated from Wadham College, University of Oxford with a First Class Law degree. I achieved AAA at A-Level (French, Geography, Economics) and 8 A*s 2 As at GCSE.

Mentoring and developing peoples` skills and knowledge is something I feel passionate about and thoroughly enjoy doing. I am confident in my interpersonal skills and I know I would quickly be able to develop a fruitful relationship with the mentee. I am able to quickly pick up on any grey areas in a mentee`s knowledge and would be flexible in techniques to help remedy this.

I plan any mentoring session I take on meticulously, creating a clear structure for the student to learn in stages, while also developing activities for the end of the session which test the student`s understanding of the material covered.

Availability: There are no limits on my availability.

Willing to travel: 8 miles

Experience: I have plenty of experience in dealing with young people, having coached cricket to children between the ages of 7 and 13 for the past 5 years. I plan sessions beforehand, focusing on developing a few specific skills using drills and activities tailored to the children I am coaching. I then put these skills to the test at the end of the session in structured games to give the children a taste of real-game situations. While mentoring, this would take the form of preparing an activity based on the session at hand.
I also mentored frequently during my school days, teaching French to classes of pupils in preparation for their GCSEs while also taking one to one sessions with others.

Both of these experiences necessitate meticulous preparation of plans to structure the sessions and best facilitate learning, a skill I would put into practice while mentoring your child. Additionally, I am able to react spontaneously both in the classroom (to emerging grey-areas in a student`s knowledge) and on the field (to discovering a lack of understanding of a key skill) to ensure the student gets the most out of the session nonetheless.
