Information about Ben
Hi, my name is Ben. I currently work as the Head of Mathematics at a secondary school, where I teach KS3, GCSE & A-Level Maths and lead a passionate team of dedicated educators. I graduated from the University of Reading with a high 2:1 in BSc Mathematics and take great pride in using the knowledge gained from studying fascinating modules, such as code breaking and forensic statistics, to motivate my students and discuss tantalising career prospects.
I currently mark papers for a major exam board so have a deep understanding of what it takes to be successful. Tutees will receive personalised short and long term intervention plans, as well as tailored revision schedules, worksheets and homework tasks. Since the pandemic, all of my lessons have been online but I hope to start face-to-face lessons again soon.
In my spare time, I enjoy running and going to the gym. I`ve always been a keen golfer - I represented Surrey and held scholarships at Foxhills Country Club and the University of Reading.

Availability: I am available evenings, weekends and throughout most of the school holidays. Please get in touch for more details.
Willing to travel: 8 miles
Experience: Having studied mathematics to degree level and taught it for a number of years, I have a very strong understanding of the subject and how to explain complex problems to individuals of all levels. Being young and having only recently left education puts me at a great advantage as I can empathise with my students and explain concepts to them in a variety of ways that are easy to understand. I am confident and always bring lots of energy to my lessons, which makes maths more interesting and enjoyable.
