Information about Cerys

Hi! I`m Cerys, an enthusiastic UCL Social Sciences second year student with a passion for teaching and a knack for writing essays. While attending a grammar school (in which I achieved all A*s at GCSE) and completing my A Levels with A*s in English and Sociology and an A in French, I have regularly tutored through Tutor Hunt, with particular experience in GCSE French and English, and A Level Sociology. Now that I have settled into Uni life and got involved with extra academic work, such as helping my lecturers with their 9 month research project and writing for the largest student journalism society in UCL, I would be very happy to tutor some young people again and share my knowledge as a higher education student. Being close in age to my tutees I think has a huge benefit on the casual style in which I work and the impact my teaching methods have on learners, as I feel that it is important to not only be a teacher but a motivator and occasionally even a friend. Due to the success of my Uni application, I would also be happy to prepare students for applying for universities, or giving one-off essay feedbacks to improve academic writing style. I am a friendly and upbeat tutor who, above all, recognises the need for self-confidence and connection between teacher and learner within education, and can promise these things happily.
